Architecture Now was a critical moment for students to showcase their hard work throughout the three years of study. This is the second time since the pandemic for the degree show to take place, as a new member of staff this was an exciting opportunity to work with 380 students to display their work. Offering curatorial guidance students self-led the exhibition. I reflected on their understanding of architectural communication, and I believe this built upon the work of the vertical module, Disrupting the Dimensions of Architecture.

Architecture Now

University of Plymouth, 2024

“The undergraduate Architecture program guides students through three years of exploring how our physical environment shapes experiences and frames space, as well as social, ecological, climatic, and economic relationships. Students engage in projects across various scales and audiences, honing their design skills. They address material and tectonic responses rooted in the context of their interventions, tackling contemporary challenges in architecture.

Key themes include climate-responsive design, inclusive building practices, and the impact of technological advancements. This exhibition highlights work from all stages of this journey, offering new perspectives on architecture and inviting dialogue around the critical issues it addresses.”
